About Us:

Key Bridge, Inc. was established in 2016 as a Florida not-for-profit company and has received authorization from the Internal Revenue Service as a qualified public charity under section

510(c)(3). The mission of the company is to provide substance abuse/mental health counseling and support services to the Monroe County community.

We are committed to a single goal: we strive to make the world a better place by helping those in need overcome challenges, while encouraging them to find meaning in their lives. We do this by providing individual and family counseling in a warm and inviting atmosphere. A friendly and caring staff will work with the clients to create a fully customizable and individually tailored treatment plan. We recognize that individuals, couples, and families have unique dynamics and unique struggles.

Meet of Caring Staff

Michael Rogers MA

LMHC NCC MCAP CSOTP PhD (ABD)

President and Research Clinical Director, is the founder of KBI and oversees the daily operations at the agency as well as he carries a full group and individual caseload. He is trained in several evidence-based practices related to substance abuse/mental health treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Moral Reconation/Reasoning Therapy (MRT), Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Reframing. Mr. Rogers is currently a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the Florida Drug Court Professionals, and the International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychology (IACFP). Additionally, he has research certification through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).  Mr. Rogers holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Saint Leo University, a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and is currently completing a PhD in Psychology from Keiser University. Mr. Rogers is the developer of the An Alternative Way Out program. This curriculum has been the catalyst for the reduction in recidivism for its graduates by over half the historical 20 year rates. Additionally, he has over 35 years of managerial experience in the private sector, and has shown to be an effective and proven leader of clinical staff.

Elaine McHale LCSW MCAP

Substance Abuse Counselor, holds a Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and is the Lead Clinician for the proposed program. She has over 5 years working as a substance abuse clinician/counselor. She is trained in several evidence-based practices and curriculum and has had success as a group facilitator in evidence based substance abuse groups facilitating 10 different evidence-based groups each week and maintains a caseload of 50+. In addition, she brings with her 12 years of teaching in traditional classroom setting as well as her experience conducting after school and summer programs.

James Cole MD

Psychiatrist, has been practicing psychiatry for over 45 years. He has worked in inpatient, outpatient and correctional clinical settings. His specialties are in psychiatry, adult, geriatric, mood disorders, and schizophrenia. He served in the US Navy as a general medicine physician and has faculty appointments with the University of Virginia, Howard university, and the Medical College of Virginia.

Lisa Menard LMHC

Clinical Supervisor, holds a master's degree from Florida International University. She is licensed in Florida and Arizona. She has a proven clinical and supervisory record working in inpatient, outpatient, and correctional settings. 

Andrew Montiero MD MPH

Medical Director, is a highly decorated retired Air Force Colonel with over 30 years experience in general practice medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is licensed in Florida and Oklahoma. He was the Associate Dean for Air Force Affairs, Wright State University - School of Medicine. He is a Fellow with the American Academy of Family Medicine, Phi Kappa Phi Public Health honor Society and a member of the American College of Physician Executives.

KBI’s office is located in Key West, Florida. The office is inside the Key Bridge Professional Plaza, suite 212. The location is accessible to the target population; it is located on the bus line and is less than one mile from Key West High School. It is also within walking distance of shopping and several designated, low-income communities on the island.

​The office, where programming will take place, measures 1500 square foot and has two comfortable therapy rooms which are conducive to creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for counseling individuals or families. Each room is decorated to induce the feeling of being at ‘home’ with a sofa, coffee table and two oversized chairs to complement therapy sessions. The group room, where group sessions are conducted can accommodate up to 12 group members. This area has carefully chosen décor utilizing bright and calming color palettes. The area has a 45” LED TV, and a whiteboard which is used during the interactive group sessions. KBI has the availability of a specially trained therapy dog who has been specifically trained to assist in emotionally difficult settings.

100% Paperless

Key Bridge utilizes a 100% paperless enrollment and care process. All records are obtained and maintained electronically using AdvancedMD. AdvancedMD is the Electronic Health Record (EHR) service of choice for independent practices and medical billing companies. Their clinical, billing, telemedicine and patient experience tools are integrated to provide exceptional patient outcomes and financial performance. When a client is enrolled into treatment, their information is captured electronically from intake. Clients are provided an iPad to enter intake assessments and information. This information is then seamlessly submitted electronically into a new record. Clients are given a login to access their records 24/7 and are also able to directly message their provider 24/7 using the patient portal. The system is managed and maintained in a cloud-based, secure manner by AdvancedMD.
